This is a very powerful example of the use of permaculture design to create abundance where land had been unusable

The Permaculture Research Institute in Australia did the design and work. It was funded by a Japanese aid agency and was originally implemented in 2000. PRI has continued their work in Jordan and 20 or so other countries. Their website is on Roger Tomkins posting

Fantastic! I have long been a permaculture advocate and worked on projects in the tropics but I never knew it worked to this extent. Thanks for the information!!
