Dear Dr. Daniels: I am personally a contributor to which does operate in India. Each year I donate a school or library through this organization and take my son with me for the dedication. Last April we went to Vietnam to dedicate a preschool. This year's donation will go to building three libraries in SA. We will in the future be doing something in India and visiting. I do this for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is connecting my children with children in developing countries. I also will be encouraging my clients to do the same with their children. I am interested in learning more about strategic philanthropy generally for myself and my clients and that is why I joined this ning group. If you can direct me to any reading it would be greatly appreciated. All the Best David

Dear friends;
I have a big question:Can a business entrepreneur be social irresponsible to his/her own employees in not fulfulling the legal and moral obligations and be socially responsible externally and call himself/herself a Social entreprenuer?

Dr.J.Christopher Daniel

According to Jim McClurg the former President of the Social Enterprise Alliance a social entrepreneur is anyone whose mission based enterprise generates earned income. I posed the question you asked to him. He said in effect that a social entrepreneur could be a bad leader but he was still a social entrepreneur. I have some problem with this statement.
