Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability

Thesis about CSR - Comparison between China and the EU. Help!

Dear everyone,

French student majoring in International Business and Corporate Strategy, I am currently working on a thesis about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and this is the reason why I am writing to you.

Today, CSR is labeled as a "universal concept". My research question is then whether this concept is truly "universal" and therefore if it "is exported" around the world easily (since it has a Western origin). The topic is very broad, so I decided to devote part of my memory for a comparison between the European Union, one of the original CSR region and China, a country with opposite facets.

Why this choice? I would like to show through my study that CSR should not be seen as a static western concept but as a tool that adapts to different contexts (political, social, environmental). Taking two different regions of study (EU and China), I would like to highlight the important aspects of CSR in terms of these two regions and explain that one should not point the finger at what each does or not, or what the differences are but rather take advantage of every advance and learn from each other. This is of course a very "rough" summary...

To continue on my research, I would like to know more about certain aspects and this is the reason why I have created two questionnaires: one related to CSR in China and one to the EU. I strongly think that it will be a great asset on my understanding and analysis of the topic and this will definitely help me to compare the two regions I chose. The questionnaires are anonymous and I invite you to answer it (links at the end of my message).

Otherwise, I would be pleased to discuss more about this topic with you (here, or by email, LinkedIn, Skype, etc.)? I have no doubt that any contribution could help me a lot.

I thank you very much in advance for your time and consideration.

Best regards,

Don't hesitate to share these questionnaires around you and to your connections! I would be very grateful to anyone who will take the time to help me in my work.
