Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability

SCAD is seeking faculty for Design for Sustainability Department

SCAD seeks educators who are highly motivated, proactive individuals eager to be a driving part of future developments of this new program. The professor will encourage the development of a strong interdisciplinary design community across SCAD locations and collaborate with related academic disciplines and the local community.

Design for sustainability infuses social science methodologies into design disciplines. Through in-depth analysis of environmental, social and economic factors, students learn to create innovative design solutions to individual, local and global challenges. Help students prepare for careers in this cutting-edge and socially responsible field as a full-time professor teaching undergraduate and graduate level classes.




  • terminal degree or its equivalent in industrial design, interior design, graphic design, architecture or related fields
  • demonstrated teaching experience at the college level
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • experience in the coordination, organization and implementation of innovative programs
  • extensive professional experience and thorough knowledge in applying sustainability practices in interdisciplinary environments, including an understanding of organizational theory, systems theory and Cradle to Cradle design principles
  • flexibility and ability to teach a variety of subjects and levels


Primary teaching responsibilities:


  • sustainable practices applied across the disciplines
  • product, systems and building developments
  • sustainable materials
  • applications and processes used in manufacturing and across disciplines


Additional responsibilities will include curriculum development, student advisement and council committee service.
