New threats calls for new approaches to risk in Procurement

Supply chains are growing longer and are getting more complex. Thus, the likelihood of supply chain disruptions has increased.

Companies have new exposures in new geographic regions, and the interconnected nature of the global economy makes problems more and not less likely to arise.

The question is: 

Have you also, as a Supply Chain or Procurement manager made things worse by concentrating on fewer suppliers to reduce costs?

Have you reduced flexibility to a point where you are less able to respond to disruptions?
