Making Development Fair - a course on Equity and Inclusion

At the moment I'm working on a day-long course to look into the issues surrounding Equity and Inclusion in International Development - who is getting missed out and why are they not getting reached? EWB-UK will be running this course in Nottingham, UK on 2nd May and it looks to be a very interesting and throught-provoking workshop. If you are interested in attending then go to www.ewb-uk.org/makingdevelopmentfair.

Hi Raman,

Thanks for your comment about the course that we are running on Equity and Inclusion.

I'm afraid that at the moment we only have this one running on 2nd May though we do hope to run it again in the future. You can find out more about the course content and objectives at www.ewb-uk.org/makingdevelopmentfair but basically we will be looking at why people might be excluded from development initiatives and how that affects them, whether the MDGs act as a help or a hindrance in reaching these excluded parties, looking at the Rights Based Approach to development and how it has been implemented in various projects. In the afternoon we will go into a bit more detail and work on some case studies and designs for various briefs to cater for the needs of excluded groups.
I see that you are based in India, but if you happen to be in the UK at this time then it would be brilliant if you could come along. I would love to meet up with you to hear your ideas and to see whether we might be able to improve our training programme with some input from your experience.

To find out more about the training that we offer (and about EWB-UK in general), have a look at www.ewb-uk.org/programmes/training/upcomingcourses and you can sign up to receive our newsletters and monthly training bulletin at www.ewb-uk.org/newsletters.

Kind regards,

Fran
