CSR/Sustainability Performance for Diageo

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability metrics site CSRHub recently updated its ratings on Diageo and the 25companies in the Beer Wine & Distilled Alcoholic Beverage Wholesalers industry.  Diageo’s overall ratingcurrently is 64 after the most recent updates to their CSRHub page.

The average rating for the other companies in the Beer Wine & Distilled Alcoholic Beverage Wholesalers industry currently is 54.  This has allowed Diageo to maintain 1st place on the list, using the CSRHub average user profile. Also see information about Diageo at their CSRHub page here.

Diageohas a particularly strong score in the Employees area of 69.  This is due to a high score in Compensation & Benefits of 74—well above the average for this industry of 57.  The area with the greatest opportunity for improvement for Diageo is the Energy & Climate Change category.  Here, Diageo gets a 58—still above the average for the industry of 55.

According to CSRwire, some highlights of the progress that Diageo made in the past year include:

ð  Ranked the best performing Beverage Company for climate change strategy, emissions disclosure and performance by Carbon Disclosure Project.

ð  Supported over 300 responsible drinking programs in over 40 countries to combat alcohol misuse.

ð  Trained over 25,000 people through its Learning for Life programs in Latin America and the Caribbean, to support people in getting employment.
