A just-released study of public perceptions of U.S. companies’ social impact indicates that in the eyes of the American public businesses overall are more socially responsible than a year ago.

UPS Celebrates $1 Billion United Way Partnership at Charlotte NASCAR Race

In a special tribute to United Way and to all the UPS employees who support that organization, UPS (NYSE:UPS) will change the paint scheme on David Ragan's No. 6 UPS Ford this weekend to prominently feature the United Way logo.

The design change, for the NASCAR Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 16, also will see Ragan wear a special United Way helmet and fire suit that will be auctioned to benefit United Way Oct. 15-31.
