This is what am currently doing with my organization:
Women’s Initiative for Prosperity (WIP) is a Civil Organization Registered as a Non Governmental Organization by the National NGO Board under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uganda. Women’s Initiative for Prosperity (WIP) implements community based Projects at the Grassroots.
Women’s Initiative for Prosperity (WIP) was birthed out of commitment, love, hope and prayers by Mrs. Yemima Mugweri.
The Organization was started with the overall objective of Economic empowerment/Access to Market towards the widows, elderly mothers and youth, awareness of Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights, Health & Care, Prevention of HIV/AIDS and Later the Orphan & Vulnerable Children were brought on board. (See above explanations)
WIP GOAL:
Women’s Initiative for Prosperity (WIP) was founded with a vision of “A society that recognizes the economic needs and rights of the women and children” and a mission of “to improve the social economic well being of women and young people through economic empowerment, healthy care, human rights awareness and education support”.

WIP OBJECTIVES:
1. To ensure that there is Economic empowerment among the women.
• Through setting up income generating activities for the women
• Access to low interest loans
• Access to business information and market
2. To improve on the Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights among our target.
• Dissemination of information about SRHR and where to access it from.
• Advocate for health rights among women and young people.
• Prevention of HIV/AIDS and care.
• Networking and collaboration.
• Education, Training and advocacy.
3. To empower women on rights, decision making and leader ship skills.
• To advocate for human rights regardless of status, gender or any kind of race.
• Dissemination of information about human rights. What to do incase of violation.
• Training in governance and leadership

WIP’S VALUES:
 Love: Out of love for the vulnerable children Yemima and Joseph felt that there should be some thing done to help the marginalized group of people.
 Care: She felt that the marginalized women and children they need care to looked after in terms of medical care, rights and justice, economic and education.
 Equity: She felt that all people needs equal justice/fairness in terms of basic life.
 Human rights:WIP looks at human rights as
 New ideas.
WIP’S TARGET:
We are empowering the people in Eastern Uganda especially the elderly women/widows, young people by providing income strategies, quality information, improve skills and knowledge on issues of economic empowerment, sexual reproductive health and rights, networking and advocacy in favour of the above groups of vulnerable and marginalized people.
WIP PROGRAMMES:
Women Initiative for Prosperity adjusts its program based on the need of each community where we extend our services to.
Primarily WIP focuses on the following:-

1. To ensure that there is Economic empowerment among the women.
 Training them on how to save and invest
 Help women to Access Small Start up capital through soft loans
 Train our target group in management of small scale business and Provide Agro-Business information to them.
 Training women on food security as a key factor for the economy to be stable.
 Advocate for women rights on wealthy and Inheritance
2. To improve on the Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights among our target.
I. Training & Awareness
 Access to Information of SRHR package including HIV/AIDS
 Rights Awareness
3. To empower women in decision making and leader ship skills.

a. Boosting the women economically so that they can be in position to compete maximally with men when they are financially stable.
b. Through partnership with other service providers we look forward to train the women on there rights concerning the leadership.

4. Organizational development
To build the capacity of staff and community volunteers in a various things like financial management, SRHR, Micro finance, and proposal writing and project reporting etc.



Achievements
 The acceptance of our programmes in every community we have gone to like Bukaina and Bukyamuluya.
 The existence of organization secretariat and operating legally in Kamuli district
 Through network with widows mighty we managed to the small fund that was given to us of on hundred twenty to buy 4 she goats that has already multiplied to 12 goats.
 Through net work with FIDA-Uganda our beneficiaries where empowered with human rights trainings and information.

Challenges
• Lack of funding from donor agencies
• High expectations from the community
• Lack of physical well equipped office with power and technology services
• Small number of staff because there is no funding to pay the staff.
• Lack of enough resources to use
• Men denying women from the personal use of land hence hindering them from development.
• Global warming yet we basically rely on rainfall only

Conclusion
WIP-Uganda operates in Kamuli district and started with one sub-county which is Nabwigulu. But we are looking forward to work towards the whole district of Kamuli.
