I thought maybe there was a way to encourage innovation if donor's charitable contributions were specifically channeled into causes or entities that not only benefit them, but also directly benefit the public, which may also be a component of their customer base.
I suppose the point here would be for donors to encourage innovation instead of just contributing to stale programs that are locked in the status quo of administrative survival. I also thought that by funding entities in this way, it might help move society toward recognition of the value of removing the profit motive from business toward a more effective or efficient use of capital, but still provide for a stream of innovation with socially advantageous or altruistic motivations as a driver. I guess it would be something like "funding innovation through altruism." Enough for tonight. I am always available for strategy consulting or writing projects. Enjoy your endeavors. richard
