Greetings John:

Thanks for reaching out to me. As a little background, I am about 2 years old in Washington DC and my timing could not have been much worst. I moved here to transition my career to one that internationalizes my body of work and that applies good science to development initiatives. The last Administration was not very self-reflective or evaluative and we are all waiting to see what the current Administration will become, although they have the "want work" and "effectiveness" lingo go'in on.

Shoot me a note on the insider baseball of working in the financial sector in NYC and how that corresponds to CSR, etc. My foray into CSR is more a diversification strategy, because my public sector and NGO sector work is not gaining much traction. I am presenting a paper on a sub-topic within CSR that may interest you. For the American Evaluation Association Conference in October, I am presenting a paper on Evaluating the Impact and Outcomes of Workplace Diversity and Inclusion Programs. My paper looks at the higher education sector, but draws on some experience from the private sector. One of my hypotheses is that diversity programs (CSR in general) are brand building and opportunities to report successes as measured by outputs (minorities or women hired/promoted/on the board) than impacts (behavior change/learning/attitudinal change/better products/more satisfied customers/etc.)

That's my short story. Hope to hear from you.

Eric

Hi John, Thanks for the invite. I'm new to development crossing so I'm just getting up to speed on this social network. I work for a small socially responsible investing firm that specializes in shareholder advocacy and community investing. I am interested in talking with people who have experience with social venture capital.

Best regards--
