CSR Networks and Communities

CSR networks and communities (Corporate Social Responsibility) are growing rapidly. But still for most companies, measuring corporate social responsibility is complex; for many it's confusing and daunting.

Key Learnings over time:

- It is essential that companies choose guidelines and standards that reflect their business, culture and stakeholder needs and that provide information that helps the company find 'meaning' in its measurement results.
- Companies should not feel under pressure to st… Continue

BP will be most responsible Company after Oil-spill

BP must face hundreds of lawsuits in federal court in New Orleans because the city is closest to the site of the largest offshore oil spill in U.S. history, a panel of judges ruled.

“Without discounting the spill’s effects on other states, if there is a geographic and psychological ‘center of gravity’ in this docket, then the Eastern District of Louisiana is closest to it,” the panel said in its decision today.

U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier will preside over more than 300 suits, including w… Continue

Should You Buy Your Own Bonus?

Here is an interesting scenario, what do you think you or your employees would have done?

If "Mary" donated $1,000 for a school to buy products, she would hit her million-dollar goal.

Mary Kantarian was achingly close to making her million-dollar sales goal — only $1,000 short. If she mad… Continue

Hi Dan,

In April we had the inaugural party in Mbita, so the project is already running. I think, that we know more about practicability in about 6-8 month. Right now we don’t want to talk about the costs, because it is too early. This actual pilot project is just one part of OSRAMs company global care mission. It’s a top priority for us. "Global care" represents our commitment to social and environmental responsibility worldwide. As a leader in innovative lighting solutions, we are dedicated to products and processes that contribute to solving global sustainability challenges, address economic needs and protect the environment for today and for the future. Lake Victoria as location was chosen, because the local fishermen fishing for sardines at night use kerosene lanterns. The fishermen spend up to 70% of their income on kerosene, so they have a strong interest in efficient lighting. It will be a very exciting time for us to see, if our thoughts and our concept work under real and live circumstances. If you have further questions...write me back

regards
Lucy
