In April we had the inaugural party in Mbita, so the project is already running. I think, that we know more about practicability in about 6-8 month. Right now we don’t want to talk about the costs, because it is too early. This actual pilot project is just one part of OSRAMs company global care mission. It’s a top priority for us. "Global care" represents our commitment to social and environmental responsibility worldwide. As a leader in innovative lighting solutions, we are dedicated to products and processes that contribute to solving global sustainability challenges, address economic needs and protect the environment for today and for the future. Lake Victoria as location was chosen, because the local fishermen fishing for sardines at night use kerosene lanterns. The fishermen spend up to 70% of their income on kerosene, so they have a strong interest in efficient lighting. It will be a very exciting time for us to see, if our thoughts and our concept work under real and live circumstances. If you have further questions...write me back
regards
Lucy
