Dear Ashutosh,
Its nice to see the sesitivity in a student for the people around him. I think your institute is in Orissa!
I am also an engineer- graduated in 1970- did my masters in 1998 and have a small scale industry. Well financially but feel that have not done enough for the society. The social structure in Jharkhand is similar to Orissa. We the JSIA group are now trying to empower tribal youth to start entreprise, plant fruit bearing trees, fishing etc which was not their traditional money earning practices.
See my page and you will know what we are trying.
HAve you ever thought the posibility of plantation of fruit bearing trees by the village community on the Punchayat land. There are agriculture/ horticulture institute which can guarantee earnings of Rs. 1 lac per acre from the very second year.
Please as a student ' think why a state like Orissa or Jharkhand which has so much minirals and it is being exploited by many multinations- supposedely for the employement and benifit of the general mass, has more than 70% of the population below the poverty line( less than Rs. 20 per day earning).
Think how much employment is generated per Crore in large plants and how much employment per crore in agriculture/ horticulture or alternative processes.
It is interesting to note that you are engaged in an MBA course - our Homeplanet MBA program is pre requisite reading for ALL MBA programs around the world - those registering in it find very quickly its value in shifting from an old paradigm of Business management to the new paradigm.
