Hello everyone. I am currently a graduate student studying for my MBA at Assumption College, in Worcester, Massachusetts. I have been selected to participate in a six-month work project this fall with a local microfinance organization in Udaipur, India. Udaipur is a beautiful city with rich culture and history, and is a popular destination for travelers. Unfortunately the city's wealth is held by a sliver of the popular, and most citizens suffer from a lack of economic opportunity and supporting infrastructure. My work will be directly with the city's impoverished, underserved populations, identifying their need areas and improving methodologies for providing financial services for them. I will be working with the organization, planning, and implementing a sustainable project that will last beyond my time in the country. Please read more about my background, my project, and consider donating to support my efforts: http://gsclama.wordpress.com/

Peace,
Greg Sclama

Nice to know that you are working for sustainable developement project in India.
We are doing experiments with alternate developement processes in the eastern part of India and would have been gland to host you here on the site.
As we too dont take any fund from Govt / NGos, we are short of fund, and cant contribute much to your project at Udaipur.
While doing your project, please keep in mind that India is not like other countries. Here people who are doing planning and projects try to make their envirnment a 5 -start before they go into their public job. The thinking / ideas also comes from a/c offices with shuttling between the projects by helicopter or plane, and the projects are meant to give food and education to 70% of the population which earns less than 1/2 doller per day.
Larger plants, larger malls, express high ways SEZ etc or not sustainable in Indian context.. please go and talk to some one who lives in village far off from black road, and far away from electricity, education , primary health and freedom.
Dont even belive on NGOs here, as most of them are after the grant Indian corrupt Govt machinery provide the.

Hope you will do your work with independent thoughts...
All the best....rp
