Tourism Progress and Peace, is also the title of the book published in April of 2010 where eleven professors, governmental officials and travel experts from around the world collaborated on strategies and research regarding the relationship of Tourism and Peace.

The response to the book made it important to create a venue where today's educators and business leaders could physically collaborate to further the ideas published in Tourism Progress and Peace.

The Gambia, a country in West Africa where 'active' peace is practiced, and tourism has flourished, will be the backdrop to the March conference.
