Event Description

We are looking for potential and existing social entrepreneurs for the Social Entrepreneurship Workshop at the Doing Good & Doing Well conference, hosted by the IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain February 26 & 27, 2010. For more information, see or email

The Social Entrepreneurship Workshop is a three-part networking platform and peer learning experience for entrepreneurs and a unique view into the real world of social entrepreneurship for audience members. The Idea phase workshop will consist of a closed-door discussion with potential or early stage entrepreneurs. Interested participants can apply via the website. The Financing stage will consist of a discussion-based class for entrepreneurs with venture philanthropists to learn best practices for working together and to share their experiences exploring funding options. Lastly, the Strategic Growth Phase will include 6 entrepreneurs grappling with critical issues in growing their businesses. Audience members are invited to observe the discussion and participate in the Q&A sessions for both the Financing and Strategic Growth phase workshops.

The workshops will provide existing and potential social entrepreneurs with a platform to share their challenges, knowledge and experiences. Overall, the objective is to support current social businesses with idea sharing and potentially, funding, and to demonstrate to audience members that businesses can be sustainable and profitable whilst having a positive impact on the people and the environment in which they operate.

The Doing Good and Doing Well Conference, co-hosted by IESE Business School and Net Impact, will take place on the 26th and 27th February, 2010 in Barcelona.

The conference is a leading conference on responsible business in Europe and this year, expects to attract over 100 speakers and over 800 students and professionals. It will provide the opportunity for a dynamic exchange of ideas and information on the latest advances in fields ranging from agribusiness to CSR measurement.

The conference events include two days of major keynote addresses, over 30 panel sessions featuring over 100 recognized speakers, a Career Forum, a Cleantech Investment Round and a Social Entrepreneur Workshop.
