On the 12rd and 13th of November 2009, over 100 students, speakers and representatives from politics, economics, and science will gather in St.Gallen, Switzerland, for the 22nd oikos Conference.
This year's conference will cope with the future of business and sustainability – challenges in managing Corporate Social Responsibility.
On the first day, participants will be introduced to the relevance of sustainability within companies and for stakeholders, before examining the current CSR measurement and reporting standards. This will allow students to gain insight into CSR fundamentals and to arouse their critical thinking in relation to how companies currently handle CSR.
The second day of the conference will be dedicated to current and future CSR challenges, including possible ways to improve CSR implementation and communi- cation. In particular, the students will have the oppor- tunity to go through several current approaches of CSR rating, ranking and labeling, before discussing challen- ges and remaining problems of CSR with corporate and political representatives.
