The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) along with The Economic Times, is organizing an International Summit on Corporate Social Responsibility on the 9th and 10th of April 2010 at Le Meridien, New Delhi.
This is the second CSR summit to be organized by the Institute. The first CSR Summit was held in July, 2008 in association with the All India Management Association (AIMA) under the theme ‘Death of CSR and Birth of Responsible Business’. Leading management thinker Dr. C.K. Prahlad delivered the key note address at the Summit while Mr. Arun Maira, the then Senior Advisor, Boston Consultancy Group and currently Member Planning Commission of India, acted as the Summit Director.
The second Summit which brings international perspective to its platform has the theme ‘Corporate Social Responsibility: A Strategy for Inclusive Development’. In the context of some of the worst challenges mankind is facing today like climate change and hunger and deprivation felt by millions of people, the summit stresses upon the contribution the corporate sector can make to address these difficult issues. It focuses on CSR as a potential strategy for inclusive development.
We have invited some of the leading thought leaders from industry, academia and public life to address the participants in their respective areas of expertise. The hon’ble Minister for Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India, Mr. Salman Khurshid is likely to inaugurate the Summit.
The Summit is being held on a very topical theme and we are certain that your organization would benefit from the ideas, thoughts and discussions which shall emerge at the Summit.
I request you to participate and /or nominate officials from your esteemed institution.
Looking forward to your gracious presence at the Summit and receiving your nominations.
With warm regards and best wishes,
