Event Description

An intensive week-long exploration of corporate citizenship designed to help any manager - regardless of his or her functional responsibilities - better understand and contribute to corporate citizenship progress inside their company.

With globalization as the backdrop and with the relative societal role of the private, public and civic sectors in flux, the rights and responsibilities of business in society are rapidly changing. This presents new and ever-increasing complexity for businesses that aspire to be good corporate citizens and to be seen as good corporate citizens.

Good corporate citizenship is the product of good management across the organization; management that reflects the purpose, identity and values of the business and accounts for the potential impacts of the business - positive and negative - on its many stakeholders. Put another way, good corporate citizenship is the responsibility of every corporate executive, manager and employee. It is not the responsibility of a specific corporate function, and certainly not the responsibility of a specific individual, for example a CEO or corporate responsibility officer.
